In this interview, Kuwaiti poet Bader Buresli starts with his childhood in Sharq and Almurqab. He talks about his earliest memories in Bin ‘Aqool Neigborhood, then Jibla, and later in Shamiyya. He tells us about his early interest in songs and poetry and writing as a young teenager. Losing his father when he was a child, he speaks about his close relationship with his mother, siblings, and uncles. Moving into his teenage years and early adulthood, Buresli spends some time talking about his days at his high school back then, the Industrial College. Shortly after high school, he moves to the United States to continue his education. Buresli starts working at the Ministry of Information after coming back from the US as a director and a presenter. Buresli spends the last part of the interview talking about his personal life and family. In the 1990s, he focuses on the Iraqi invasion, the occupation, and the liberation of Kuwait. At the end of the interview, he shares with us his thoughts on the current covid-19 pandemic.
في هذه المقابلة، يبدأ الشاعر الكويتي بدر بورسلي حديثه حول طفولته في منطقتي شرق والمرقاب. يتحدث بورسلي عن أولى ذكرياته في حي بن عاقول، ومن ثم في منطقة جبلة، ولاحقا في منطقة الشامية. يخبرنا بورسلي عن اهتمامه المبكر في الأغاني والشعر والكتابة في سن المراهقة. يتحدث بورسلي أيضا عن فقدانه لوالده وهو في سن الطفولة، كما يتحدث عن علاقاته القريبة بوالدته وإخوته وأخواله.
انتقالا إلى سنوات مراهقته ومرحلة الرشد المبكرة، يقضي بورسلي بعض الوقت في الحديث عن أيامه في مدرسته الثانوية آنذاك: الكلية الصناعية. بعد تخرجه من الثانوية، ينتقل بورسلي إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لإكمال تعليمه. يبدأ بورسلي العمل في وزارة الإعلام بعد عودته من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية كمخرج ومقدم برامج.
يقضي بورسلي الجزء الأخير من المقابلة في الحديث عن حياته الشخصية والأسرية. وعن فترة التسعينات، يركز بورسلي على الغزو العراقي، والاحتلال، وتحرير الكويت. في نهاية المقابلة، يشاركنا بورسلي أفكاره حول جائحة كوفيد-١٩.
