Born in Al-Jahra in 1954, Mr. Faisal Al-Ayyar starts the interview by recalling his childhood memories and growing up surrounded by nature. He then talks about moving to Al-Mirqab and Al-Khaldiyya in the 1960s. He nostalgically recounts his years in elementary school and being with the Kuwait Boy Scouts. In middle school, Al-Ayyar remembers traveling during the summer to Lebanon with his family and all the good times they experienced there. After going to middle school in Al-Faiha, Al-Ayyar talks about joining Kaifan High School and how diverse it was. His rebellious high school days culminated in him joining the Military College in the 1970s. He then received a scholarship to study aviation in the United States. Shortly after that he came back to Kuwait with his family and started his career in aviation. Al-Ayyar shifted careers in the 1980s and his interest and passion for the economy and the stock market started to take shape. Within the same time period he speaks about the Souk Al-Manakh Stock Market Crash. In the mid-80s, he began working with Al-Fetouh for General Trading until work was halted by the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. A significant part of the interview is dedicated to Al-Ayyar’s memories and experiences during the occupation and liberation periods. He concludes the interview by talking about his projects since the year 2000 and his recent book Money and Sand.
يبدأ السيد فيصل العيار، المولود في منطقة الجهراء في العام ١٩٥٤، حديثه في المقابلة باسترجاع ذكريات طفولته ونشأته محاطا بالطبيعة. يتحدث بعد ذلك عن انتقاله إلى منطقتي المرقاب والخالدية في الستينات. يستذكر العيار بحنين سنواته في المرحلة الابتدائية وانضمامه لفريق الكشافة. وعن المرحلة المتوسطة، يتذكر العيار سفره إلى لبنان في الصيف مع أسرته والأوقات الجميلة التي قضاها هناك.
بعد ذهابه للمدرسة المتوسطة في منطقة الفيحاء، يتحدث العيار عن انضمامه لثانوية كيفان وعن التنوع الذي شهده فيها. يتحدث العيار أيضا عن كيف تُوِّجت أيام تمرده في المرحلة الثانوية بانضمامه للكلية العسكرية في السبعينات. حصل العيار بعد ذلك على بعثة دراسية لدراسة الطيران في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. عاد العيار بعد ذلك بفترة قصيرة إلى الكويت مع أسرته ليزاول مهنة الطيران.
غير العيار مساره المهني في الثمانينات، وأخذ اهتمامه وشغفه في الاقتصاد والبورصة في التبلور. وفي سياق ذات الفترة الزمنية، يتحدث العيار عن أزمة سوق المناخ. في منتصف الثمانينات، بدأ العيار العمل مع شركة الفتوح للتجارة العامة، حتى توقف العمل بسبب الغزو العراقي للكويت. إن جزءا كبيرا من المقابلة مكرس لذكريات العيار وتجاربه خلال فترتي الاحتلال والتحرير. يختم العيار مقابلته بالحديث عن مشاريعه منذ العام ٢٠٠٠ وكتابه الأخير، "مال ورمال".
